What do they do?

Doctors without borders are a medical humanitarian organization. The Doctors without borders founded in France called Medicines Sans Frontiers (MSF). This non-governmental organization helps people in need of medical assistance in war-torn regions, developing countries with a weak infrastructure as well as countries affected by endemic diseases. The majority of the members of the organization are volunteers of which are doctors, nurses and logistical experts. The organization Doctors without borders has a vision to ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages. The organization has set the following goals to be achieved by 2030:

  1. End preventable deaths of newborns, children and pregnant women;
  2. End epidemics such as AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria;
  3. Guarantee broader access to healthcare, vaccines and medicines;
  4. End malnutrition;
  5. Improve hygiene and sanitation;
  6. Improve emergency response;
  7. Achieve universal health coverage.
